Investment Casting Process at Alltech Castings follows a structured, quality-driven workflow for producing precise and reliable castings. Our team carefully manages every stage, from engineering and die preparation to pattern creation, shell building, casting, finishing, inspection, machining, and final dispatch.
The pre-production phase establishes the foundation for successful manufacturing. Our engineers analyse component designs and evaluate their manufacturing feasibility before production begins. Based on the approved design, suitable dies are prepared for wax pattern production. Each die is inspected to verify its dimensions, specifications, and overall condition. This detailed preparation helps minimise production issues and ensures that the casting meets the required application requirements.

Shell Backing
The pattern and shell creation stage focuses on producing an accurate wax model and developing a strong ceramic shell. Wax patterns are injected using carefully prepared dies and then cleaned to remove unwanted material. The patterns are assembled before ceramic coating is applied. Controlled coating and drying stages gradually build the required shell thickness and strength. Dewaxing removes the wax from the ceramic shell, while shell backing provides additional strength and stability before metal pouring.

Packaging and Dispatch
The final stage of the Investment Casting Process begins with pouring molten metal into the prepared ceramic shell. Once the metal solidifies, the ceramic shell is removed and the casting is cut from the assembly. Components may undergo heat treatment to achieve the required mechanical properties and are then subjected to fettling and finishing operations.
Each casting is carefully inspected for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and other specified requirements. Where necessary, machining is performed to achieve precise tolerances and final component specifications. After completing the required quality checks, finished products are securely packaged and prepared for dispatch to customers worldwide.
